Simpson & Brown Architects is one of the United kingdom's leading conservation practices with a growing reputation for high quality new work. James Simpson and Stewart Brown founded the firm in 1977 and Andy Davey and John Sanders joined the partnership in 1998. Addyman Archaeolgy became integrated with the practice in 2006 and Tom Addyman joined the partnership. In 2008, Sue Whittle and Jenny Humphreys became partners. Based in Edinburgh, S&B currently has seven partners, nine associates and around 50 people employed, including architectural historians and administration staff.
