This scheme for Anchor Housing Association forms part of a comprehensive development in the grounds of a listed building occupied by Kirklees Social Services as a Resource Centre.

The scheme provides 14 one-bedroom flats with ancillary accommodation, 24 single-bedroom care units which are registered as a nursing home and, in an adjoining block, three one-bedroom bungalows for aged persons.  The north of the site contains wheelchair bungalows for the West Yorkshire Housing Association. 

The scheme sits naturally in the mature landscape, taking advantage of the sloping site and utilises traditional materials and construction methods to produce a reassuring vernacular form.
