Medical Centre, Sheil Park
Liverpool by Acanthus WSM Architects for Liverpool HAT The Sheil Park Medical Centre replaced outdated health facilities and forms the focal point of a major high quality residential redevelopment of over 200 houses. The centre, which opened in April 2003, provides a landmark building both in its location at the entrance to the development and in its design. The building provides a doctors surgery and other health centre facilities serving the local community. The fair faced blockwork, and natural red sandstone, generic to the area, contrast with the polished aluminium roof. The design incorporates large areas of glazing to the public areas and yet maintains security and privacy to the consulting and treatment rooms by the use of horizontal slit window with opaque glazing. |
