Cityscape, Croydon
Keeley Road, Croydon
for Barratt Southern Counties
Completion 2002
The scheme comprises 95 apartments of one, two and three bedrooms, with 73 parking spaces.
The development occupies a tight town-centre site with the Drummond Shopping centre to the north, and two storey terraced housing to the south.
The accommodation is split between two blocks, linked by an atrium. The smaller block, placed parallel with the existing housing on Frith Road, maintains the grain of building along this southern edge of the site. The larger block climbs in height from the elevated three-storey Frith Road frontage to 10 storeys at the northern end, its angle determined by daylight considerations to the two-storey houses on Frith Road.
The buildings are clad in a self-coloured aluminium rain-screen panel system, roofing in a grey standing-seam system. Windows, door frames, and balconies, are in off-white powder-coated aluminium.
